Cancellation & Refund Policy

7-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Try PiyAPI risk-free. If you're not satisfied with your Starter, Pro, Team, or Enterprise plan within the first 7 calendar days of your initial subscription, we will issue a full refund, no questions asked. This guarantee applies to first-time subscribers only.

1. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Dashboard under Settings → Billing → Cancel Plan. Cancellation is self-service and does not require contacting support.

By You (User Cancellation)

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You retain full access to paid features until then.
  • No partial refunds are issued for the unused portion of the current billing cycle (except during the 7-day guarantee period).
  • Annual plan subscribers who cancel mid-term will retain access for the remainder of the annual period already paid for.
  • If you cancel within 7 days of your first subscription, the 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee applies (see above).

By PiyAPI (Our Cancellation)

  • Without cause: If we discontinue the Services or terminate your account without cause, we will provide a prorated refund for the unused portion of your subscription at our then-current daily rate (total paid ÷ days in billing period × remaining days).
  • For cause: We may suspend or terminate accounts immediately for violation of ourTerms of Service (e.g., abuse, illegal content, rate-limit circumvention) without refund.

3. Non-Refundable Items

The following are explicitly not eligible for refunds:

  • Overages or pay-as-you-go API usage charges already consumed.
  • Custom integration or professional services hours already delivered.
  • Domain-specific Enterprise setup fees (if applicable).
  • Subscription renewals where cancellation was not initiated before the renewal date.

4. Refund Processing Timeline

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Processing timelines depend on your payment method and bank:

Refunds are processed via Razorpay. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is initiated.

5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Email support@piyapi.cloud with subject: "Refund Request — [Your Registered Email]"
  2. Include: your registered email, the transaction ID or invoice number, and reason for the refund.
  3. We will review and respond within 24 hours.
  4. If approved, the refund will be initiated within 2 business days.

6. Upgrades & Downgrades

Upgrading

When upgrading (e.g., Free → Starter, Starter → Pro, Pro → Team, Team → Enterprise), the change takes effect immediately. You will be charged the prorated difference for the remainder of the current billing cycle.

Downgrading

When downgrading, the change takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You retain access to the higher-tier features until then. No partial refunds are issued for the difference, but you will not be charged the higher rate on the next renewal.

7. Failed Payments & Grace Period

If a renewal payment fails:

  • Retry: We will attempt to retry the transaction up to 3 times over 7 days.
  • Notification: You will receive email notifications on each failed attempt with a link to update your payment method.
  • Grace period: Your paid features remain active during the 7-day retry window.
  • Downgrade: If payment continues to fail after all retries, your account will be automatically downgraded to the Free plan. No charges are applied for the failed period.

8. Your Data After Cancellation

When you cancel or your subscription expires:

  • Your stored memories and data are retained for 30 days after the effective cancellation date.
  • During this period, you can still export your data via the Export API (GET /api/v1/export/memories).
  • After 30 days, all Content is permanently deleted from production systems.
  • Encrypted backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before automatic purging.
  • Billing records and invoices are retained for 7 years as required by tax law.

9. Free Tier

The Free tier is provided at no cost. Since there is no payment, there is nothing to refund. Free tier users may upgrade to a paid plan at any time, at which point these cancellation and refund terms apply.

Disputes & Chargebacks

We strongly encourage you to contact us at support@piyapi.cloud before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We are committed to fair resolution.

Chargebacks filed without prior contact may result in permanent account suspension and forfeiture of stored data. If you believe a charge is unauthorized, we will investigate promptly.
